Lake Keesus Boating Guidelines

The following rules are ones we hope all boats using Lake Keesus will follow:

  • Attempt to travel all Keesus Bays in a counter-clockwise direction (driver to shore) especially during high use periods.
  • Slow-No-Wake speed before 9:00 a.m. and after sundown Monday-Friday.
  • Slow-No-Wake speed before 9:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
  • No waterskiing after 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
  • One life jacket for each person in a watercraft and one throwable if your boat is 16 feet or longer.
  • PWC's must go slow-no-wake within 200' of shore. PWCs must go slow-no-wake upon entering and leaving Rices and Marquardt's Bays (even if you are in the exact middle of the 2 shores, you are still closer than 200 feet from shore)!

Keesus History Books
The brand new Lake Keesus History Book update was premiered and distributed at the Christmas Party and was met with rave reviews. The book was put together by Jean Schlidt, Mary Bock, Mary Schlumpf, Laura Milbrath, Nancy Matthisen, and Gloria Wiesehuegel with the help of many Keesans who contributed their personal stories of life on Lake Keesus. If you did not pre-order the book, there are copies available to purchase for $25. Checks must be made to LKAA or cash is great. Contact Jean Schlidt at 538-1537 or Mary Bock at 538-3810 to get yours.
